East London weddings run to their own clock
The Ijab-Qabul takes less time than it takes to find a parking space, and it will not wait for a photographer who is still deciding where to stand.
We shoot it on long lenses from the back of the room. No flash, nobody repositioned, no family member asked to say it again for the camera. That decision is made weeks earlier with whoever runs the mosque, not improvised in the doorway on the morning.
Ilford and the wider Redbridge area hold one of the largest Muslim communities in London, and the weddings reflect it: Nikkah and Walima, frequently on separate days, frequently with a segregated reception where the women's side is where most of the celebration actually happens. Covering that properly needs a woman on the crew, and we arrange it as part of the booking rather than as a favour.
We are a London studio and Ilford is a short run east. We are not going to dress that up as travel, and we are not going to pretend we have a Redbridge office either.

Not glimpsed from a doorway. A female photographer as part of the crew, so the side where most of the celebration happens is recorded like the main one.

The hours before, with her mother and sisters. Without a woman on the crew this chapter is simply missing from the album, and it is the most common regret we hear.

Have you photographed weddings in Ilford?
We have covered Muslim weddings across London for twenty-five years, east London included. The weddings published here are named with their venues so you can see exactly what we have worked, and we would rather point you at those than claim a Redbridge gallery we have not put up.
Can you provide a female photographer for the bridal side?
Yes. We have women on the team who cover it as photographers in their own right. Ask at the enquiry stage, because availability works like any other crew member and peak season goes early.
Our Nikkah and Walima are a week apart. How does that work?
As two bookings on two days rather than one long one. It is common here and the quote accounts for it. Tell us both dates at the start.
Will you use flash during the Nikkah?
No. Long lenses from the back of the room, available light, and nobody asked to move. It happens once.
