Asian wedding photography and film

Asian Wedding Photographer in Wembley

Photography and film for Asian weddings across Wembley and Brent, from the first mehndi evening to the last song of the reception.

Photography and film for the whole Wembley wedding week

Memory Filming is an Asian wedding photographer and videographer for Wembley and the wider Brent area, covering Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings from the mehndi through to the reception.

Most Wembley weddings do not happen on a single day. A mehndi may fill a hall on a Thursday evening, the baraat may form outside a different building on Saturday morning, and the reception can close the week in a ballroom near the stadium. We plan around the whole week. The pictures that matter later are often small ones: an aunt adjusting a dupatta, a groom waiting at a door, a grandfather who stayed seated through every song.

Our studio is in Brentford, so a Wembley wedding needs no overnight stay. We arrive early, walk the room before guests do, and agree the key family groups with you in advance so nobody is chased across a hall.

A typical celebration can include a mehndi or sangeet, a haldi, a baraat and milni, the ceremony, the vidaai and a reception. Some couples also hold a short civil ceremony first, so the legal marriage and the religious one happen on different days. We check the Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena event calendar for your dates. A match or concert changes roads, parking and the walk from Wembley Park station, so if your date overlaps an event we build extra travel time into the plan. We also photograph grandparents and older relatives first, because they tire first, and let younger cousins wait.

Hotel ballrooms such as Hilton London Wembley, opposite Wembley Stadium, behave differently. The light shifts between arrival drinks, the entrance and the dance floor, so we recheck settings at each stage instead of trusting the first test shot. Banqueting halls around Ealing Road, and halls in Kenton and Harrow, often host the largest guest lists, and those are the weddings where we recommend a second photographer. Venue rules differ, so we ask for the photography and filming guidance of each venue when you confirm your booking.

For a civil ceremony, Brent Register Office sits inside Brent Civic Centre on Engineers Way beneath the Wembley arch. Brent Council describes a Ceremony Suite and landscaped Ceremony Gardens with a canopy, heaters and lighting. It also asks wedding parties to tell the register office in advance if they want photographs outside office hours, 9am to 5pm, so we raise it early.

Every tradition has someone who leads the room, and the camera has to defer to them. We learn the etiquette of each tradition before the wedding, because where a photographer may stand differs between a Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil ceremony. Under a mandap the priest guides each ritual, so we stay low and to the side, away from the fire and the line between priest and couple.

At an anand karaj the ceremony centres on the Guru Granth Sahib. We cover our heads, remove our shoes where the gurdwara or hall asks, and keep movement still during the laavan. At a nikah the legal moment is the signing, so we position ourselves close enough for the signatures and the dua without standing between the couple and their families.

Couples often want portraits and worry there is no time. A realistic plan is a short, fixed window chosen in advance. Brent Council lists the Wembley Arena fountains and the Spanish Steps as photo spots near the register office, and Fryent Country Park gives open fields and a quieter backdrop. In December the sun sets before four in the afternoon, so winter weddings need portraits earlier than most couples expect. We say so while you are planning.

A guest list of three hundred or more changes the job. One photographer cannot be at the bride preparation, the groom arrival and the stage at once, so for larger celebrations a second photographer lets us cover both families together. If you prefer a female wedding photographer for preparation or a segregated event, we can arrange that. With several events, booking photography and film together means one plan for the week and one crew who already know your families. Photography gives you pictures for the album and the wall. Film keeps the sound of the vows, the speeches, the dhol and the laughter.

What we cover at a Wembley Asian wedding

Any event you choose, from the first henna evening to the reception, planned as one story.

  • 01

    Mehndi and sangeet

Low light, quick movement and a lot of dancing. We work with the room lighting and a small amount of controlled light so the henna, the jewellery and the dancing all stay clear.

  • 02

    Baraat and milni

Outdoor timing matters here. One camera follows the groom while the other stays on the faces of the families meeting.

  • 03

    Ceremony

Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil ceremonies, each covered according to the etiquette of the tradition.

  • 04

    Bridal preparation and vidaai

The quiet moments before the day and the emotional farewell, photographed without interrupting them.

  • 05

    Reception

Entrances, speeches, first dance and stage portraits, with a second photographer available for larger guest lists.

  • 06

    Pre wedding and engagement shoots

A relaxed session near Wembley Park or in a green space such as Fryent Country Park, which also helps everyone feel at ease in front of the camera.

What your coverage can include

Every wedding is quoted in writing for the events you choose. These are the three ways couples usually build it.

We don't publish prices, because no two of these weddings are the same. Tell us the date, the venue and how many events you are running, and we will send an itemised quote with nothing to decode.
