Most Luton weddings are not one building
The Nikkah is often at the mosque, the Walima somewhere with room for four hundred, and the two are rarely next door to each other.
That is the practical shape of a Luton wedding, and it is the thing a crew has to plan around rather than discover on the day. Two locations, two set-ups, a convoy in between, and a schedule that slips the moment lunch runs long. We plan the day around the gap rather than treating it as dead time.
Luton has one of the largest Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities in the country, and the weddings reflect it: Nikkah and Walima, Gaye Holud where the family is Bengali, and a growing number of couples running a fusion of both sides. Those are the ceremonies this studio has spent twenty-five years inside.
We are not local, and we will not pretend to be. We are in London, which is forty minutes down the road, and we travel up the night before whenever the morning starts early. That is a deliberate choice: the risk on a Luton wedding is not the photography, it is the traffic.
What a Luton booking involves
The practical answers, because these are what the first phone call is about.

Two venues, one plan
Mosque to banqueting hall is the usual shape. We agree the timings, the convoy and who covers what at each end weeks before, not on the morning.

The mosque comes first
We speak to whoever runs the room ahead of the day and agree what is allowed. Positioning during the Ijab-Qabul is settled before we arrive, never negotiated at the threshold.

A female photographer if you need one
Segregated Walima receptions are common here. If the women's side needs covering properly, that is arranged as part of the crew rather than as a favour on the day.

We arrive the night before
For an early start we travel up the previous evening. Forty minutes on a good day is ninety on a bad one, and a wedding morning is not the time to find out which you have got.

The ceremony knowledge is the point
Knowing that the Ijab-Qabul happens once and cannot be repeated for a camera is not local knowledge. It is the part that took twenty-five years and 9,700 weddings.
The reception is often out of town anyway
Plenty of Luton weddings hold the Walima at a venue in Hertfordshire or on the London side, so the wedding is not local either.

Have you photographed weddings in Luton?
We work across the South East and the Home Counties. The weddings on this site are mostly London and the surrounding counties, which is where the studio has been for twenty-five years, and we are not going to show you a Luton gallery we do not have. Judge us on the work that is here, and on whether we know your ceremony.
Do you charge extra to come to Luton?
Travel is built into the quote rather than added afterwards. Tell us the venues and the number of events and the figure covers getting there.
Can you cover the Nikkah and the Walima if they are on different days?
Yes, and it is common here. Two days is a different quote from two events in one day, so tell us the shape at the enquiry stage.
Would we be better off with a Luton photographer?
If the whole wedding is one building on one day and budget is tight, a good local photographer is a sensible choice and we would say so. If you are running a Nikkah and a Walima across two venues, experience of that specific thing matters more than the postcode.
