A nikkah followed by a larger celebration later the same day, a structure we've filmed many times, though it still asks for careful planning around timing and location changes. Simran and Sohail's nikkah coverage stayed steady and understated, the formal reading of terms and the couple's consent leading the pace rather than any added camera movement.

April in London brings mild, changeable weather, so outdoor portrait sessions worked around whatever window of good light the day gave rather than a fixed schedule set in advance. The shift from nikkah to celebration is one of the parts of a Muslim wedding we most look forward to filming, quiet formality giving way to noise and colour within the space of an hour. Shot selection opened up considerably once the reception began, wider lenses, more movement, matching the room's growing energy as guests arrived. Family entrances during the reception carried real significance, and that part of the timeline stayed protected rather than rushed.
