Croydon and south London
Grand Sapphire, already photographed.
Anika and Khumar's Bengali wedding there is in the portfolio, whole. Look at it before you decide whether we know the room.
South London weddings are their own thing
Croydon is not a smaller version of west London. The traditions are different, and so are the buildings.
The Punjabi and Gujarati weight sits west, around Southall and Harrow. South London leans Tamil, Sri Lankan and Bengali, and those ceremonies ask for different things: a Thirumanam where the thali is tied and everything changes in a second, a Gaye Holud spread across a family home rather than a hall.
We have covered both. Anika and Khumar's Bengali wedding at Grand Sapphire is on this site. Sandeep and Shehroz's Hindu wedding at Dulwich College is too, ten minutes up the road. Those are south London rooms, not a west London portfolio with a Croydon label attached.
Grand Sapphire is also on our partner list, which is there because we have spent years working alongside its team rather than because anyone exchanged a logo.
What Croydon weddings ask for
Specific to the traditions that actually happen here.
- 01
Thirumanam and the thali
The moment the thali is tied is over in seconds and cannot be repeated. Being twelve feet away with the right lens already on is the whole job.
- 02
Gaye Holud at home
Bengali pre-wedding functions are often in a family house rather than a hall. Small rooms, mixed light, and far better photographs than a function suite if the crew knows how to work them.
- 03
Grand Sapphire and the banqueting halls
Large rooms with no daylight and a schedule that moves. We have worked them, which means the lighting plan exists before the doors open.
- 04
The move between events
Ceremony and reception are frequently in different buildings here. The journey is part of the coverage.
- 05
A female photographer where needed
For the bridal side or a segregated reception, arranged as part of the crew from the start.
- 06
Both cameras, one team
Photography and film positioned as one unit, so neither is in the other's shot during the parts that only happen once.
Coverage
The same shapes of coverage as anywhere else we work.
One day
- Around ten hours
- Photography, film, or both
- Crew travels the night before if the start is early
- Digital delivery
Full day
- Around fourteen hours
- Both sides covered at the same time
- Album and feature film
- Documentary edit as well as highlights
Multi-event
- Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, the day, the reception
- Across more than one venue if that is how it falls
- One team throughout
We don't publish prices, because no two of these weddings are the same. Tell us the date, the venue and how many events you are running, and we will send an itemised quote with nothing to decode.
Twenty-five years in the room
South London work you can look at
Two weddings, both published, both nearby.
Anika and Khumar, Grand Sapphire
A Bengali wedding at Grand Sapphire in full. The venue is on our partner list because we have worked in it.
Sandeep and Shehroz, Dulwich College
A Hindu wedding ten minutes away, in a completely different kind of building. Same crew.
Tamil and Bengali, not as an afterthought
This studio has dedicated pages for both traditions because it films both, rather than treating everything outside Punjabi and Gujarati as a variation.
Questions
Before you ask.
Have you worked at Grand Sapphire?
Yes. Anika and Khumar's Bengali wedding there is published on this site under their names, and Grand Sapphire is on our partner list because of years working alongside them.
Do you film Tamil weddings?
Yes, and there is a page on this site about what happens at a Thirumanam, written for a family rather than for a search engine. The thali being tied is the moment the whole day turns on and it is not repeatable.
Our Gaye Holud is at home. Is that a problem?
It is usually the best part of the coverage. Family homes give you real rooms and real light instead of a function suite. Tell us the address and roughly how many people so we bring the right crew rather than filling the hallway.
Do you charge extra to come to Croydon?
It is inside the quote rather than added later. We are a London studio and south London is not a journey we charge you to think about.
Enquire
Is your datestill free?
Tell us the date and the venue and we will come back within one working day with availability, a crew size and a straight price.
