Nikkah ceremonies vary a lot by family. Some stay small and close, others fill a hall before the walima even starts. Usama and Uroosa's leaned toward the latter, a full room for the contract signing itself. Filming a nikkah means paying attention to the procedural moments that carry the actual weight, the reading of terms, the mehr confirmed, the bride's consent asked and given, sometimes through a representative in the next room. None of that works with a lot of camera movement, so we kept things steady and let the ceremony set its own pace.

London weddings like this one move fast between locations in a single day. Logistics matter as much as framing, knowing where the next moment is happening and getting there first. Once the signing was done, the room's energy shifted, families embracing, sweets passed around, a kind of exhale after the formal part of the day. That shift says as much about the wedding as the ceremony itself, and we cut the film to hold onto it, stillness first, then noise and colour, because that's genuinely the order it happened in.
