Asian Wedding Photography Prices London

What actually drives the cost of Asian wedding photography and videography in London, and how to work out what your wedding needs before you ask anyone for a quote.

Mostly, couples ask me the asian wedding photography prices in London. If you have started asking asian wedding photographers for prices, you already know the honest answer: it depends. But you did not come here for a sign. You want numbers.

Those figures move around a lot. An Asian wedding is rarely one event. It might be an anand karaj at the gurdwara in Sikh wedding followed by a reception in the same evening. It might stretch across a haldi, a mehndi, the wedding ceremony itself and a reception days later. Every one of those functions adds hours, and hours are what increase the price.

The honest answer is that there is no single figure, and any studio that gives you one before knowing your wedding is guessing. What we can do is tell you exactly what moves the number, so you can work out what your own wedding needs before you ask anyone for a quote.

What Actually Changes the Cost

Four things do most of the work. Everything else is detail.

  • How many ceremonies. An Asian wedding is rarely one event. A nikkah and walima on separate days, or a mehndi, anand karaj and reception, is three times the work of a single afternoon, and it is the single biggest factor in any quote you receive.
  • How many hours on each day. Coverage that starts with the bride getting ready and runs to the last dance is a different job from three hours around the ceremony itself.
  • How many people are working. A second shooter means the groom's preparation and the bride's are both covered, rather than one being missed. On a large wedding it is the difference between a record and a highlight.
  • What you want at the end. An online gallery costs less than a hardback album. A ten minute highlight film costs less than a full ceremony edit with the speeches. Neither is better; they are different things to own.

Where Couples Usually Over Or Under Spend

The most common mistake is paying for hours nobody needs. If your reception is a hundred guests and finishes at eleven, coverage until two in the morning buys you photographs of an empty room. The second most common is the opposite: booking the minimum for a wedding that runs across three days, then finding the crew leaves before the part you most wanted filmed.

Neither is about budget. Both are about matching the coverage to the actual shape of your day, which is why we would rather talk about your wedding than send you a price list.

Why Choosing on Price Alone Can Cost You More Later

There is no reshoot for a wedding day. If a photographer misses the varmala, the sindoor, the exchange of rings during the engagement, or the moment your father walks you to the mandap, that moment is simply gone. When you are comparing quotes, ask what happens if two important things happen at once, and ask how many full Asian weddings, not just general weddings, the photographer has actually covered.

How Memory Filming Approaches Pricing

We do not believe a single fixed price list makes sense for weddings that can range from a three hour civil ceremony to a four day multi function celebration. Every Asian wedding we photograph in London is priced around the actual shape of your day which depend upon how many ceremonies, how many hours, whether you want photography alone or photography and videography together, and whether a second photographer or an album is part of what you need.

Khurram has been photographing weddings for over 25 years, with a large part of that experience spent specifically on Muslim, Sikh, Hindu and Bengali weddings across London, so a quote from us reflects genuine familiarity with how these ceremonies run, not a generic day rate applied to any event. If you tell us your ceremonies, your venues and your rough timings, we can put together a package built around your wedding rather than asking you to fit your day into ours. Common Questions About Asian Wedding Photography Costs

Is Asian wedding photography more expensive than a standard English wedding photography package?

Not because of culture, but because of scope. A typical English wedding is one ceremony fitted into one afternoon or evening. Many Asian weddings, by contrast, unfold across several separate functions and sometimes several days. Couples end up paying for more hours of coverage overall, not a higher rate for the same amount of time.

Do photographers charge extra for each additional ceremony?

In general, yes. Pricing is usually built around hours and functions rather than a single flat fee. So adding a mehndi on top of a nikkah and walima will push the total up. That said, several photographers reduce the rate per function once you book more than one together. It is always worth asking before you assume the price is fixed.

Is videography included in photography packages, or is it always separate?

It varies by wedding photography studio. Some offer combined packages where photography and videography are priced together and delivered by one coordinated team. Others treat them as entirely separate services with separate photographers and videographers. Combined packages are usually better value if you want both.

What is a fair deposit to secure a date?

Most UK wedding photographers ask for a deposit of around 20 to 50 percent to hold your date, with the remainder due before or shortly after the wedding.
